Jollibee Discount Scam


After a long and stressful day in school, it is always a nice thing to know that I get to spend the rest of my time with my girlfriend. Whenever we have freetime, we always make it a deal to bond together by eating out somewhere, driving around, or just staying at home while watching movies or our favorite TV series. I can say that our relationship is not as lavish as other relationships are. We don’t always go out to pricy restaurants, spend the day going out, or buy gifts randomly for each other, unless the occasion calls for it. As much as possible, we keep things simple and bond over the little things that we both enjoy. An example of this is eating street foods in our neighborhood. After school, we always go to the tricycle terminal outside our village to eat fried calamari, fried isaw, and fishballs. These are our comfort food after a long and tiring day. Every time we agree to see each other, food is always a must even if we always get short in budget. No matter what activity we decide on doing, there should always be food. So one day, when we wanted to watch a certain movie in our house, we decided to order food in Jollibee. When we were ordering food through landline, the employee said that if ever the order would excess the given time of arrival, there would be a discount upon our order. And as anticipated, the order came late. When we asked the delivery guy for discount, he said that he has been in the village roaming around, trying to find the address that we gave. I said that “pero kuya sinabi niyo parin na dapat may discount kapag late eh”, but he only said to us that it would be charged on the next time that we place an order. And ever since then, we never got the discount. This strategy is not only applied in Jollibee, but also in other fast food establishments as well. This sort of turned me off regarding with Jollibee due to their false promotions. They serve really good food at an affordable price, so it seems that there is no need for this kind of tactic to be presented if they won’t be able to pull it off. It would only put them on a bad light with their customers if they keep on getting their hopes for discounts but in the end, declining the claim.

Every after class, no matter what the time was, I always went to this famous dimsum house just along Dapitan street. Ever since my first year in college, I was always cautious of how much money I spend everyday, since my allowance is very limited. I never thought that I’d be the money-saving type of guy, because price never mattered that much to me before. As long I was able to enjoy myself in a meal, I was okay with that.  Until I got into college where every decision should be carefully made, even in terms of food. This is where I started to learn that price does matter instead of just the quality. A quality of something would even be more appreciated if it was also achieved in an affordable price. This is what Angkong is. Among all the other affordable food stalls/restaurants around the university, this is the place I always come back to. SM North Edsa Cinema

SM North has been the ideal mall for me since it’s the mall I have grown quite fond of. It’s a one stop shop, so whenever we go there, we do lots of things from doing groceries, dining at a restaurant, shopping clothes and sometimes we watch at their cinemas. I can say that the cinemas in SM North Edsa are really big, and through time they have expanded and added new cinemas to accommodate the demand of customers. Though as they expanded their cinemas, their prices also changed, the price I remember in 2014 was 190-200, but recently it has changed to 260-290. I think that their way of order-taking has a room for improvement. It is because there often are long lines whenever there are brand new movies in stall. Instead of people waiting in long lines to get their tickets, there should be more ticket counters so that this problem could be avoided. Karaoke Hub

My girlfriend and I have always been fond of going to karaoke booths or hang-out places. The Karaoke Hub located in SM North has been one of our go-to's whenever we were in the mood of spending quality through fun karaoke. Despite it having a slightly expensive price, the service and facilities were good by the staff and brought to the Karaoke room, The rooms were well air-conditioned and very neat. But aside from the facilities, the song were also up to date which is why it was not hard for us to choose the songs that we would like to sing. However, it feels like the time is too short for the payment that it costs per session
